Marla's boyfriend was in prison, and she wanted some sexy photos to send
him. She and I were just spending the day having fun when I was stooping
down to get something from my camera bag, and happened across this
angle. I'll often shoot in odd or unusual angles, looking for the
unconventional. Cropping off Marla's face and foot break about a hundred
laws of good composition, but the shot still has a kind of funky energy
to it. It's one of those flashpoints we experience most every day, a
glimpse or almost-glimpse of something our imagination fills in the
blanks for. Sexy without really trying.
