This is another of the shots I took with my Hasselblad of Nicole while we played dress-up to distract us both from worrying over the dire state of Nicole's grandmother. This was supposed to be fun and, maybe on some level, it was. But Nicole's solemnity was continually at odds with the playfulne3ss of the dress-up games, grounding the photos in a kind of hollow dirge.
